Welcome to the

Theodore Roosevelt School PTA

***We will hold elections via Google Meet on 6/11/2020 at 7:00 pm***
As we will not be returning to school this year, we need to begin planning our PTA board for next year.  Three of the four current board members have children in 6th grade, so we can no longer serve on the board of TRSPTA.  Next year our organization will look and function much differently than it has in the past, so we will need strong leadership and dedicated parents to ensure our children have a positive experience at Roosevelt School. The PTA has always been instrumental in bringing Roosevelt School and broader Weehawken community together.
As part of the TRSPTA Executive Board, you may make the board your own and create exciting new events and activities!  This year was the first year we held the Selfie Stroll,  a fun community-building fundraiser.  We were working to create a Family Softball game Fundraiser, but the closures due to COVID 19 prevented this from taking place.
Without a strong PTA, student experiences, and community events such as those listed below will not happen.
The PTA helps provide for your children:
  • Enrichment Classes (Fall & Spring)
  • Book Fair
  • Fun Day (school fair)
  • Gardening (Fall & Spring)
  • Class Trips
  • End of Year Parties
  • St Jude's Marathon celebration
  • Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Celebration
  • Ice Cream Social
  • D.A.R.E. Graduation Reception
  • Project Moving On (6th Grade Parents)
  • 6th Grade End of Year Dance
  • Graduation Ceremony Assistance
  • 6th Grade Clap Out

Our board is a group of volunteers that care deeply for the children of the school. These roles provide leadership for the PTA, but they also are responsible for shaping the experience for TRS students and families.  Getting involved is an excellent opportunity to make a huge difference for our children, and become more connected to the broader Weehawken community.
Below is a list of all our open board positions:
  • President
  • Vice President (We can have 1-3 Vice Presidents)
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary (We currently have one Secretary, but we can have two co-secretaries.)
If you or someone you know is interested in being on the board please let us know.  CLICK HERE to view the roles and responsibilities for board members for your consideration.
If no one volunteers by June 4, 2020, we will sadly be forced to formally end our relationship with the PTA and close our chapter. We will hold elections via Google Meet on 6/11/2020 at 7:00 pm
Please feel free to reach out to us at with any questions, concerns or suggestions.
