Hello everyone! My name is Michcella Tiscornia, and I will be teaching Writing and English Language Arts to your 3rd Grader this year. Thanks so much for visiting my page! Please feel free to subscribe to keep yourself updated!
I received my dual BA from Seton Hall University in Early Elementary Education/Special Education and English in 2012. I am thrilled at this new opportunity to teach your child the joys of writing! Currently, I am pursuing an MA in Urban Education from New Jersey City University so that I, too, am immersed in learning, much like your children. It's going to be a year of cooperative growth and learning!
By chance, I started my career at Roosevelt School by substituting. After a few months, I was offered a maternity leave position at TRS. Five years later, I am still here!J Our district has seen many changes in my five short years here, and I am beyond excited to take part in a district that is certainly moving forward!
It’s an honor and a privilege to teach your child. I come from a long line of teachers – my mother and father included – so I understand the importance of a solid education. I believe all children have a right to be taught. I believe all children should learn and have fun, too. In the classroom, I love to try new things and challenge myself to make learning a unique experience.
I am always open to your thoughts and concerns, so please do not hesitate to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let’s have an amazing year together!
Click the links of the right to experience your classroom!
1.The trip will take place tomorrow, June 14th. The buses will leave promptly at 9:00am. If you are chaperone, please arrive at the school promptly at 8:45am. Upon departure, we will meet in the lobby by 1:15 and return to school by 2:00pm.
2.Dress your child in comfortable clothes, including sneakers. The museum is huge and we encourage students to explore as much as possible.
3. Please pack a LABELED brown bag lunch for your child. Glass bottles and cans are discouraged, as they are bulky to carry around. Pretty, pretty, pretty please - no lunch boxes! Your child will be carrying them around for their whole trip!
4. Your child may purchase souvenirs, but teachers and chaperones are not responsible for holding any money. If a child decides to purchase items, they must be responsible for their own money.Chaperones - PLEASE visit the gift shop before 1:00pm!!!!!
5. Have a game plan! There is a lot to do at LSC, and talk to your child about things they want to see. Knowing what to do means less time thinking and more time doing. All groups will receive a map and an example of current exhibits tomorrow morning.
WRITING PORTFOLIO ASSIGNMENT
This week, our students will be responsible for a culminating writing assignment to put into their writing portfolio. One is due on Friday 6/9 and the other is due Friday, 6/16. It does not matter which one is handed in first, as long as one is handed to me this Friday and one is handed to me next Friday. If students want to complete both of that before the due date, that is fine, but they MUST come to me to put in their portfolios. I have provided paper for them. Each essay should be three paragraphs. Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
Tests for this Week
Spelling and Grammar test - Lesson 16
There will be NO READING test for lesson 16, but two 'cold read' quizzes during the week.
